Coworking is starting to take off in Phoenix!
As the city continues to develop a real downtown atmosphere, another coworking space, Big Bounce, just opened its doors. Located in a recently refurbished historic home on Ash Avenue in Tempe, Big Bounce will have 3 rooms and hopes to host businesses well on their way to independence. Evo Terra, the chief disruption officer, said wants Big Bounce to be the final step that late stage startups take before going at it alone.
Big Bounce’s approach to coworking is unique in that it is more of a program than an office. Big Bounce has used the word “Cohab” to describe themselves; they provide 10 hours of weekly mentoring along with the office space. The folks at Big Bounce want to teach the entrepreneurs how to run a business and avoid the common pitfalls of entrepreneurship.
SiteWire, the Tempe based digital Marketing powerhouse, is backing the project and a few of the executives from SiteWire actually started Big Bounce.
Thanks in large part to recent developments and businesses like SiteWire, Tempe is growing at an amazing rate. Once a college town, Tempe is morphing into a full-fledged urban environment, and is becoming an exciting place to live and work.
It is really great to see coworking catching on out in the 480 and we can’t wait to see what innovative Phoenician entrepreneurs Big Bounce gets the opportunity to work with.
